Useful Math Sites:

This site is sponsored by the Oswgo City School District Regents Exam Prep Center. The goal of this nonprofit site is to
help high school students meet the New York State Regents requirements in Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies. This project is supported by a federally-funded Title III Technology Literacy Challenge Grant and
the Learning Technology Grant. It is a great site to find more information and practice problems.

Although this is a general website that many teachers use, I think it is essential because it offers practice exams and solutions for the Regents Exam. I feel the best way to do well on these state tests is to practice and review all the different types of past exams. Each exam offers different examples of problems and provides solutions so students can
practice and trouble shoot their weak areas. In addition, it keeps students on track of what they should know by yr end. This particular site has a list of all the different subject areas so students can use it as a quick guide.

This website was made by the Math Dept at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County. I thought this website was great because it gathers a wide array of math resources from math college requirements at many universities/colleges to websites showing the history of math. It is important to show students sites from different colleges because they can do some research and learn more about the math requirements they need to complete at their particular college if they are interested in a career involving math/business etc. I want my students to start thinking about “real life”
applications, in addition to the general core curriculum.

www.homeworkspot.com
This website is useful for all subjects. It breaks down information for elementary, middle school and high school
students. There is a math forum that provides information on all different levels of math from K-12 to Advanced
level courses. In addition, the different levels (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Discrete Math) are highlighted for easy
access so students do not have to filter through all the different math information to obtain what they need. It also allows users to ask math experts to get information from “real” people. I think it is another great resource for extra math explanations.
